A practising GP, I joined OneMedicalGroup in 2014. In 2016 I took on the role of Lead GP for Primary Care Services and became Chief Medical Officer in 2017. In the summer of 2019 I became Deputy CEO and in April 2020 I have stepped into the role of Chief Executive Officer. My focus is on making sure we deliver high quality integrated primary care for individuals and populations across the UK, whilst making OneMedicalGroup the best place to work in the NHS. As part of my role I lead on company culture and values, clinical operations, quality continuous improvement, workforce and patient services transformation, and strategic analytics. Having suffered burnout early in my career, I am passionate about supporting everyone with their health and wellbeing, creating a safe and supportive environment for all and championing good health and wellbeing for both patients and staff. I work to ensure all our staff have joyful, fulfilling careers and are supported to deliver the highest quality care to all. I qualified from Leeds School of Medicine (University of Leeds) in 2007, and I have made Yorkshire my adopted home ever since. I undertook my post graduate training in general practice across the county. In 2017, I had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Health Foundation’s Generation Q fellowship, a quality improvement and leadership programme designed for senior leaders from healthcare, policy and the charity sector. I studied at Ashridge Executive Education, part of Hult International Business School. I believe in compassionate inclusive leadership and I feel privileged to work with a group of talented, generous, and fun people. I am always looking to learn and to listen to others. I am a father of two amazing girls which keeps me busy and gives me a reason to smile every day. I am a movie geek, eclectic music fan, enjoy portrait painting, and love to cook.
