We were born in a barn on the outskirts of Leeds, Yorkshire in 2004. We had one member of staff, one location and one vision to improve lives. The barn is still our home today! Highlights from our journey:
2004 saw the launch of OneMedical, it was an ambitious undertaking and a steep learning curve which shaped the way we work.
We doubled our team, laid the foundations of our organisation and were awarded our first premises contract.
The care side of our business was born, then known as OneMedicare (Now OnePrimaryCare) and we broke ground on our 2nd development.
We opened our first building development, submitted our first care tender and opened Leeds city centre’s first GP Surgery, The Light.
This was the year we started making access easier for our patients by opening walk-in centres (in Derby and Sheffield) Rachel Beverley-Stevenson became CEO of OneMedicare!
Our services really started making a positive difference for our patients. 5 years after we opened we had grown to 73 team members!
We built a new centre in Scartho for the local community so they could hold their tea dances; throughout construction we provided temporary cabins with sprung dance floors!
We built another 2 medical centres and were awarded 3 more GP contracts. Bank Top Farm (where we were born) underwent a refurbishment!
Staff went to the Institute for Healthcare Improvement in the USA - our Support & Advice Hubs (now known as Wellness Hubs) were developed from this. Standish Medical Centre won an Urban Design Award!
We brought both our companies together as OneMedicalGroup. The new structure meant we are one group, one company and one offering; encompassing property and NHS care provision.
Celebrating 10 years of OneMedicalGroup! Further growth continued as we opened another 6 services. 10 Years in and we were at 220 team members!
Our family continued to grow as another 4 Surgeries transitioned to OMG and we were awarded Derby Urgent Care Centre – which today treats for over 50,000 patients a year.
Our central administration team was formed. We were awarded the contract for Shakespeare Medical Practice – we were contracted to see 18,500 patients, however we saw 50,000 this year!
OneWorkforce was established, delivering training to healthcare providers across the UK. OneWellness was created; our wellbeing offer with a dedicated health and wellbeing centre in Harrogate.
OneMedicare became OnePrimaryCare and we started to provide Community Dermatology Services. OneWorkforce started working with numerous PCNs, adding consultancy to its offering. We also sold our first property portfolio.
We were successfully awarded Corby Urgent Care Centre which went live in April with a focus on Wellness and keeping people away from hospital. We acquired Rescon Technologies, now known as OneMedicalTechnologies – a healthcare technology company that provide digital solutions to solve ‘real world problems’.
We are looking forward to what 2020 will bring… watch this space!
