We’re delighted to make good progress with the construction of the new Aspull Health and Wellbeing Centre. Only a matter of months now until the new home for Aspull Surgery and NHS WWL Teaching Hospitals Trust’s Aspull clinic team will be ready and our community orchard will be open to the village and the wider area.
Take a look at the time-lapse below to see the progress from the demolition of the Aspull clinic back in December to now.
Current and next stages
- Steel completion marked a new milestone.
- The roof and windows are currently almost finished – see images below.
- The external brickwork construction will commence as a new stage and milestone.
With the support of Aspull Surgery, NHS Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust, NHS Greater Manchester Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Wigan Council, the new state-of-the-art health and wellbeing centre will provide flexible healthcare facilities that support patients to access care and help them improve their lives.
The new building is on course to achieve a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating, the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for master planning buildings.
