News – Introducing Engage
Soon, Whinhill Medical Practice will be introducing Engage, a new online system that helps you contact the practice and get the right care from the right healthcare professional at the right time.
What will change for you?
Engage will allow you to submit a medical or admin request (such as requesting an appointment or sick note) online via an online consultation form without needing to wait in a phone queue or come into the practice.
If you don’t have access to the internet and cannot use our new online services, you can still contact us via telephone or in person and we will help you fill in the online form or fill one in on your behalf.
No matter how you contact us your request will be assessed in the same way and you will be allocated an appointment or directed to the most appropriate service, based on the urgency of your problem.
Why are we making this change?
We know that patients want to access care more quickly and easily. This change will:
- Allow you to submit a medical or admin request, without waiting in a phone queue via our new online form.
- Enable more patients to access our service confidently by offering multiple language options through our form.
- Help us review requests more quickly.
- Ensure urgent clinical problems are identified and prioritised appropriately.
- Help direct you to the healthcare professional best suited to your needs.
- Reduce telephone queues to speak to a member of our team when you need to.
How to sign up to Engage
You can sign up for Engage in 5 simple steps
- Open Engage Consult: Go to your GP Practice website and click the link to Engage. Choose Appointment/Engage Consult, then select Sign Up. Or download the app.
- Create an Engage Consult account
- Enter your details: Provide your name, date of birth, gender, postcode and phone number.
- Agree and verify your email: Accept the licensing agreement, enter an email address, then retrieve the six-digit activation passcode sent to that inbox.
- Create your password: Enter the passcode, set a secure password and complete registration. You will receive a confirmation email. Sign out when finished.
