Lockdown playlist

By Dr Rahul Lakhera

Because we are spending a lot of time at home lately we thought it might be nice to come up with a playlist which you can use for anything you like; from background music when cooking, reading, meditating or even exercising.

Here are some suggestions for you to type into Spotify, Apple Music or Youtube.

Little Dragon – New Me, Same Us

If a band ever typified that late afternoon festival set then this is it. Get in the garden when it is sunny, drink in hand and just relax to the silky electronic pop this Swedish band create. Listen here.

Dua Lipa – Future Nostalgia

An early release for her 2nd album after it was leaked on the internet. Critics have been raving about her catchy tunes and song writing. I expect this album will create many summer chart hits. Listen here.

Thundercat – It Is What It Is

If you ever wondered what LA funk sounds like then this is for you. If you are cooking it is hard not to get your stir on as the bass guitar grooves take over your body. Listen here.

Portico Quartet – Trajectory EP, look back to their album from 2019 Memory Streams.

Beautifully crafted alternative jazz music that transports you to another world using unorthodox instrument combinations. Anthemic. Listen here.

Braille – Too Much EP

Brooklyn based DJ Praveen Sharma uses multiple dance floor genres and ambient vocals to make you feel like you are on one of the many rooftop bars Leeds has to offer after dark. Who says you cannot rave during Covid-19. Get those sunglasses on and hands in the air. Listen here.

Hania Rani – F Major single, look back to her 2019 album Esja.

Dream-like classical music with Kate Bush-esque vocals from the Polish pianist who resides in Berlin. The perfect accompaniment to a chill out session. Listen here.
