Associate Director Patient Safety & Experience

After initially attending a university in Cardiff to study International Hotel Management, I had a bit of career change in my early 20’s. I decided that I wanted to become a Nurse and trained at The Royal Free Hospital/ Middlesex University where I qualified in 2004. My first nursing role was as a Community Nurse in Tower Hamlets, East London. After a couple of years learning the ropes, I moved to Essex and spent several happy years District Nursing in Uttlesford. I became a Non Medical Prescriber in 2014 whilst working as a Community Matron and then Joined One Medical Group (OMG) in November 2014 as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Soon after this I became the Clinical Service Manager of Sheffield Walk in Centre.

In June 2019 I became The Head of Patient Safety and Quality and Head of Nursing for OMG. Flashforward to present day and I am now the Associate Director of Patient Safety and Experience. This is a national role and every day is different. I am lucky to be able to work with some fantastic colleagues across all of our services and my favourite days are the ones when I can go and visit them. I support our teams with complaints, event reporting and analysis, patient feedback, audits and significant incidents. I am also the Adult Safeguarding Lead for OMG and facilitate our Safeguarding Forum.

I am passionate about providing high quality care to our patients and I am very happy that I work for a company which puts this at the forefront of what they do.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with friends and family and walking my dog. I read avidly, play the flute and have recently started teaching myself to play the piano.
