Our Timeline

Two decades of growth, innovation, and service to
NHS communities

OneMedical Early Team

  • We begin our journey back in 2004, when Rachel and her father Mike were having a conversation about how healthcare premises can be improved.
  • OneMedical was soon founded; on the back of Labour’s new NHS plan which placed a focus on premises development.
  • This marked the beginning of our journey as a healthcare premises developer.

Beacon Medical Centre, Cleethorpes

  • We submitted and won our first ever tender to build a new £4.2 million Medical Centre in Cleethorpes.
  • We designed it around a courtyard to prevent elderly staff getting lost, which was a major problem in the original surgery.

Groundbreaking begins in Cleethorpes

  • In 2006 building began in Cleethorpes.
  • This year we also decided to expand our business and launch OneMedicare. With this we started to bid for GP contracts.
  • This made us the only company in the UK offering both healthcare estates solutions and healthcare delivery.

The Light Opens – we made local headlines

  • We began running our first GP surgery; The Light Surgery, it began with a list size of 0 patients and it was the only GP Surgery in Leeds City Centre.

The reception at the Light back in 2013

  • Both arms of the business came together to form OneMedical Group.
