Caretaking
We offer caretaking services for GP Practices that require immediate, critical support. When a practice is at risk of failing or unable to deliver the expected standards, we are ready to step in at very short notice to stabilise, deliver and then improve the service.
How we do it
Our approach to supporting and restoring GP practices follows a clear, phased model designed to deliver stability, safety, and sustainable improvement. From the moment we arrive, we act decisively to take control of the situation, protect patients, and support staff. We move systematically through the stages of Rapid Mobilisation, Stabilisation, Service Delivery, and Quality Improvement. Each phase is focused on different areas of priority as laid out below
Our Process
Rapid Mobilisation
Focus on:
- Support teams deployed on site
- Take control of the situation
- Establish leadership presence
- Prioritise patient safety
- Prevent further deterioration
Stabilisation
Focus on:
- Critical Areas
- Staffing Gaps
- Broken Processes
- Safeguarding Issues
- Restoring Basic Trust
- Introducing Structure and Basic Governance
Service Delivery
Focus on:
- Structured delivery
- Bring consistency
- Improved access to services
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards
Quality Improvement
Focus on using our analysis to:
- Target root issues
- Improve access through new/improved systems

Proven Experience
We successfully turned around an ‘inadequate’ GP practice that had been temporarily closed and handed to us to prevent permanent closure.
Within 16 months, we stabilised services, rebuilt patient confidence, and achieved a CQC ‘Good’ rating, securing its future as a sustainable NHS practice.
