King’s Fund OneMedical Property – Data Case Study

OneMedical Group have been providing strategic estates support to General Practices and Primary and Healthcare providers since 2004, encompassing equity release (sale and leaseback), capital investment, remodelling and new build (3PD), healthcare facilities management and asset management and data led advisory services such as population health planning, which then shapes estates requirements and related solutions. Our Consultancy Team comprises of Health Industry Experts, Business Informatics and Data Analysts who are actively working within PCNs on current and future workforce development and organisational design. We’re currently working with a PCN in Derbyshire on their Estates Strategy, looking at how they can future proof their estates with the development of the ARRS roles. We start with a Space Utilisation assessment at each of the PCN current practice premises, this involves a layout survey, timetabling exercise and assessment of footfall in and around each premises. We then review and analyse the primary care data, pan PCN, to assess if the care models being worked up respond fully to the current and future health care need of the local population, this would include but is not limited to;

• National and PCN prevalence data analysis and evaluation of which ARRS, and other roles, would have the biggest impact on outcomes
• Usage and impact review by specialism and cross referenced to population health data to measure actual impact of roles such as physios, pharmacists, dieticians, specialist nursing etc.
• Social prescribing modelling, (and analysis if already in place), including local asset mapping covering community, 3rd sector, allied health, council and other resources, (people and spaces), available locally

Working together our Data Analysts and Property Team then create a report with recommendations of how best to utilise the current premises available, highlight future gaps and what extra space will be required year on year. Using our experience we can support the PCN going forward to optimise space, enabling healthcare premises to have better patient experience and staff wellbeing.
