‘Spring Forward’ Event for over-70s: The Light Surgery
The Light Surgery hosted an event with their over 70’s; the event had an advice based agenda, but they still had the opportunity to chat to their patients, have a cuppa, some food, and allow them an opportunity to spend some valuable time with each other too!
They had their Physio, Dickon, discussing exercise advice, and demonstrated the use of Nordic Walking with poles. Dickon spoke about the NHS guidelines for how much mild exercise everyone should be doing per week, and explained the benefit of using Nordic walking poles, allowing patients to try them out and give them the best tips on how to use them.
He also used this as an opportunity to remind patients what he can see and treat at the practice and how best to book in with him.
They also had Millie, one of their occupational therapists talking about fall prevention. Lots of useful information, tips, tricks and advice given.
She also explained what the Occupational Therapy team can help with and how best to book in!
A massive thank you to our Care Coordinator for organising this one. We look forward to the next !!
