Uno’s Holiday Health Hacks
This summer, we took our mascot, Uno, on his first holiday. During his trip, he was tasked with running a social media campaign, to give our patients some top tips to help them stay safe and healthy on holiday.
Take a look at what Uno got up to this summer:

Uno is looking forward to his summer holiday… but before he finishes packing his bags, there is one essential step he cannot skip: checking his travel health requirements.
Vaccinations and boosters are one of the most effective ways to protect yourself against serious diseases while abroad.

Uno loves exploring new places on holiday, but all that sightseeing in warmer temperatures can drive up the body's temperature and lead to dehydration and overheating. 🥵
So take Uno's advice: keep your fluids topped up throughout the day, aiming for about 8 to 12 250ml glasses of water and drink even more if you're hiking or swimming too, to help your body stay cool and avoid dehydration. 🫗

Uno loves spending time in the sun, but even he knows that the hot weather can cause some people to become unwell through overheating, dehydration, heat exhaustion and heatstroke.
So take Uno’s advice: spend time in the shade or cover up with suitable clothing and sunglasses when the sun is strongest (between 11am - 3pm), to avoid overheating and damage to the skin. 😎🏖️

Uno loves soaking up the sun on holiday, but all that fun in the sun can leave your skin exposed to harmful UV rays if you're not careful. ⛱️
Apply sun cream 30 minutes before you head out, giving the ingredients time to fully bind to your skin. And don't stop there! Reapply at least every 2 hours, and straight away after swimming, to keep your protection topped up.
Don't forget to check the star rating on the back of your bottle too! It measures your SPF's UVA protection, and since UVA is a known initiator of skin cancer, the higher the star rating, the better for your skin.
