News – New British Sign Language (BSL) Video Relay Service Available

We are pleased to announce that Deaf and hard-of-hearing patients can now contact our practice using a British Sign Language (BSL) Video Relay Service (VRS).

This free service allows patients who use BSL to communicate with our practice through a qualified BSL interpreter. The interpreter will translate between BSL and spoken English during the call, helping patients access our services more easily and independently.

How it works

  1. Select the BSL Video Relay Service link: https://connect.interpreterslive.co.uk/vrs?ilc=WYICB
  2. Connect to a qualified BSL interpreter through a secure video call.
  3. The interpreter will contact the practice and relay the conversation between you and our team in real time.

No special software or equipment is required. All you need is an internet-connected device with a camera, such as a smartphone, tablet, or computer.

Supporting accessible communication

The service is provided through InterpretersLive! and is designed to make it easier for Deaf and hard-of-hearing patients to access healthcare services and communicate with our practice.

If you use BSL and would like to contact us, simply visit our website and use the new BSL Video Relay Service link.

We are committed to making our services accessible to all patients and welcome this new way of communicating with our practice.
